62-Year Old Woman Beaten To Death

A 62-year old woman has been allegedly beaten to death by a man, his wife and children.
Those arrested in connection with the killing are Mr. Aderinwale, Mrs. Abibat Aderinwale a.k.a Iya Alata and Alfa Suraju.

P.M.NEWS investigation revealed that the granddaughter of Mrs. Iyabode Dosunmu Aliyat, 3, and Lekan, the grandson of Mrs. Aderinwale, Iya Alata, were playing at the tap and Aliyat suddenly began to cry. This attracted the attention of Iyabode who ran to them to calm Aliyat.

When Lekan also began to cry, his grandmother thought it was Iyabode that beat him. And angry Mrs. Aderinwale called her children on phone and lied that she was being beaten by Iyabode.

This prompted Mrs. Aderinwale’s children to rush to the place to beat Iyabode to death.
Speaking on the incident, Pa Aliyu Dosumu, 72, the deceased’s husband, said: “On that day, we were having a party in front of my house at No. 3, Ajijola Anobi Street in Amikanle area of Alagbado, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria, when the incident happened.

“The children also beat me and my children, Lateefat and her sister, Nafisat, before neighbours called the police from Alagbado Police Station. Nafisat was later admitted in the hospital.

“One of the children that contributed in beating my wife to death is Abbey Ijongbon, a meat seller at Oshodi and he has promised to kill all members of my family. All the suspects reside at No. 2 on the same street with us.”

Ijongbon, a.k.a Terror, is now on the run even as the police are searching for him.
The other suspects are currently being detained in the cell at the SCID, Panti, Yaba.
