Obasanjo meets Oshiomhole in Benin

Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Sunday held a 30-minute closed door meeting with Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, in Benin over an undisclosed matter.

Accompanied by his wife, both however refused to disclose why they met nor the outcome of the meeting.
A source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, because he was not authorised to speak, however said the meeting might be connected with the 2015 presidential race.

Obasanjo simply told journalists who approached him at the end of the meeting that they would both speak at the appropriate time.

He said, “I am not here for any statement. If the governor is around and I am in Edo State for private visit, I should be here to say hello. Thank you very much.”

Meanwhile, Governor Oshiomhole has promised he would continue to provide good governance to the people of the state.

Oshiomhole stated this in an interactive session with journalists after Obasanjo’s visit.
He added that he was humbled by the support, encouragement and endorsement he had reviewed both from within and outside the state.
