Job Title: Managing Director
Location: Abuja

Reports to: Chairman, Board of Directors


Responsibilities:
  • Ensure high quality financial services to the bank’s clientele,
  • Grow the bank’s business within and around the FCT. 
  • Implement best-practice corporate governance, management, organizational structure and procedures, staff development, financial management, and risk management principles,
  • Ensure compliance with all enabling laws that govern the business of microfinance in Nigeria. 
  • Mobilize funding resources in form of savings, deposits, debt and/or grant capital
  • Promote the bank’s name and brand within the FCT and beyond. 
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the bank’s business network.
  • Provide leadership for the day-to-day operations of the Bank. 
  • Implement creative marketing strategies, while maintaining focus on the bank’s strategic goals.
  • Establish performance goals for all Marketers and Credit Officers and monitors performance on a continual basis.
  • Assist in all hiring, training, performance management, and termination of staffs and managers of the bank. 
  • Participate with other stakeholders, in the development of the Strategic Marketing and Growth Plan for the Bank.
  • Directs department(s) to achieve objectives established in the Bank’s Strategic Plan.
  • Develop, maintain and improve business relations with all customers of the Bank.
  • Seek out and target new customers and new business opportunities, initiates action plan to approach and secure new business for the Bank.
  • Manages related subordinate supervisors and exert effective team building.
  • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of Business development Operations.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems


Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in any academic discipline 
  • MBA or MSc in a social science subject;
  • Professional accounting or banking qualification (ACA, ACCA, ACMA, CPA, ACIB) will be an added advantage;
  • Applicant MUST have a knowledge of the Abuja market 
  • Applicant MUST be Abuja based
  • Minimum of 9 years banking experience with competencies in Credit and Marketing, Branch Management, and Branch Operations;
  • Maximum age: 45 years;
  • Computer literacy, with proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power-point application’s
  • Experience working in microfinance will be an asset, experience in setting up microfinance programs is preferred, branch management exposure will be an advantage,
  • Risk Management experience required,
