Enyimba have appointed former U-23 head coach, Austin Eguavoen as Head Coach/Technical Adviser for the 2011/2012 Nigeria Premier League (NPL) season.
Eguavoen beat Niger Tornadoes’ boss, Justin Tenger to land the job at the Peoples Elephant.
The former Super Eagles’ defender agreed to join Enyimba on a one-year deal with an option of another depending on his achievement this season with the team.
However, a club source disclosed to SuperSport.com that Eguavoen might be unveiled next week though he will likely be in Aba when Enyimba play host to ABS FC on Saturday.
Eguavoen is expected to work with first-team coach, Abdu Maikaba, who is expected to take charge of the opening day game against ABS FC.
It is the second time Eguavoen will return as head coach of the Peoples Elephant after he led them to win the Federation Cup in 2009 against Sharks in Lagos.
Before Eguavoen’s appointment, Enyimba were in talks with Kenyan coach, Salim Ali, Hasan Egilmez and Ladan Bosso
