Day 2 Strike Report: Tunde Bakare, Nollywood Stars, Musicians Leads Protest In Lagos

The nationwide strike over the removal of subsidy on petrol enters the second day, as reports say, thousands of protesters marched in the streets of Lagos, Abuja and some other cities in the country.

In Lagos, protesters gathered at the Gani Fawehinmi park at Ojota in a carnival-like atmosphere with performances from musicians such as Dede Mabiaku, Olu Maintain, JJC, Pasuma, Idris Abdulkareem, etc laced with speeches from Tunde Bakare, members of the civil society.

In Abuja, a confrontation between protesters and seccurity agents was averted when the Police and Navy personnel prevented protesters from marching to the Freedom Square at Wuse, before Labour leaders waded in to resolve the crisis.
